Gameplay

The GBA was created for players of all skill levels and the idea of playing a game through variety.  We understand that there are comp leagues that allows every team to basically copy and paste the same 4-Out 1-In/5-Out play-style every possession, and that is fine but we also value everyone's time and experience.  Please understand that we know that it can be beaten and we don't knock it but the point is, it is boring to deal with and watch via live-streams.  Give the opposition different looks, have fun with your teammates and see what they can do.  Have fun and do different things, participate in the GBA storylines, spark up fake WWE beefs, etc.  The GBA is designed to be a cool tight-knit 2K Community Group, casual yet competitive and not a sweaty-comp scene.  This is a sim-league.

Sometimes it might look ugly, sometimes it'll look great but most of all, it'll look more like team-ball instead of a 2-man show every possession and not everyone wants to turn their PS5 on or spend their hard-earned $ to stand there and watch that.  If that style is your only way to play, there are comp leagues to do it in.  We all purchased this game to have fun and do unique things on the court, let's see variety instead of everyone doing the same thing.

Spamming of 4-Out 1-In and 5 Out sets all game is not allowed, the GBA promotes variety.  Keep in mind, that there will be key moments where the set up might become that offensive set but it's something that could be a last minute spacing play. We hope that this allows teams to keep the defense guessing and for every player to have a chance to do more than stand at the hash or corner all game and watch 1 player 'have fun'.

Note: Currently running a no-zone defense, which also adds value to a FA defender while also exposing weak defenders.

Arena Wait-Time:

Players take time out of their personal lives to get on and play a game, we must respect each other's time. Therefore, there will be a 15 minute grace period decision for the waiting team.

A) Take the W via a forfeit.
B) Continue to wait.
C) Reschedule the game.

(Barring any real life scenario that causes a delay)

Regular Season Lag Out

If a player(s) lag out with 2:30 or less left in the 1st Quarter the game will continue and count.

Playoff Game Lag Out

If a player(s) lag out in the 1st Quarter, the game will be stopped and leading team will be awarded the point difference (Example: 26-21 Leading Team get +5 points). The restarted game will only be 3 Quarters and the leading team points will be added to the final score (Example: If after 3 Quarters score is 60-60, leading team from previous game would have 65).

Switching Builds

Once a game has connected, you cannot switch builds on the next game, if a lag-out occurs.
If a team is caught changing builds in the reconnect game, it will be a loss.

1st strike - ( 5 regular season games )
2nd strike - (15 regular games and playoffs)
3rd strike - Removal from GBA.

Commissioners will reconsider after a few seasons for possible reinstatement but chances of reinstatement may not occur
